When your diamond core bit wears out it's really just the diamond cutting segments that need to be replaced. The core barrel and permanent "quick-connection" adapter to the core drill motor are usually in great condition. Why throw all that value in the trash?...
Normally the knife can cut several thousand cuts before sharpening. It can then be sharpened at least once. Re tipping equipment works cleaner and more comfortable. No noise, dirt or sparking – and cuts off faster than a grinding disc.
Varying with application, an average electroplated diamond core drill/bit will last you 80 to 120 holes. Whereas a conventional metal bond (sintered) diamond drill should last you about 1,200 holes. And a diamond drill with SMART CUT™ technology will last more than 2,000 holes.
You can replace just the diamond segments on your existing bit and get a "like new" bit for less than half the cost of a new one.
